Press Release Regarding The Treatment And Rehabilitation Of Wounded Afghan National Army Members , 28.06.2010
Upon the request of the Afghan authorities, 25 Afghan National Army members who have been severely wounded and lost their limbs during military operations will arrive in Turkey starting from tomorrow (29 June) in several parties and with their companions for treatment and rehabilitation in the Turkish Armed Forces health facilities. The purpose of this cooperative activity, which constitutes yet another embodiment of the bonds of friendship and fraternity between Turkey and Afghanistan is to make it possible for the wounded ANA personnel to re-adapt to their lives with self-confidence and in a manner that will be helpful to their communities.
Helping restore peace and stability in Afghanistan, which has been suffering from armed clashes and destruction for decades, constitutes the main objective of Turkey’s comprehensive support and assistance to this country. Turkey’s contributions cover all segments of the Afghan society and will continue in the time ahead, taking account of Afghan priorities, and in close cooperation with the Afghan Government.
